december 18 - 11:15:28 - an ode to chemistry

This was how my two exams went today:

English - what kind of screwed-up proctor hands out one sheet of paper at a time? Come on, Mr. (no names mentioned). It would save both of us more time to just hand us the entire stack, like your roommate does. That's probably why The Inevitable Him and The Still-Nameless Him split up - differences in paper distribution habits!!

Math - With the Inevitable Him frolicking around (and flirting with the Catastrophic Her's friend.. hmm), I probably made a few mistakes. AND my prediction was right - he has started wearing new shirts!

Here are my other predictions. Now that the Inevitable Him has met and fallen in love with The Catastrophic Her, he will start:

- wearing new shirts (done)

- sitting with her at lunch

- hanging out with her in the teacher's lounge

- growing a goatee

- wearing leather pants

Mark my words.

I've just spent quite a while reviewing for my chemistry exam tomorrow, and the madness has led me to write another ode.

An Ode to Chemistry

O! Chemistry, with your mind-numbing figures, the humble Mole,

Your endless, varying formulas and equations burst with song!

Stoichiometry, the noblest of arts, pierces my heart like a stirring rod,

Your impact on my soul has been like

A drop of silver nitrate, staining my skin for eternity!

O! As I gaze around the majestic laboratory,

With its aroma of poisonous gases and chemicals,

Glimmering with the metallic glare of Bunsen burners,

Music in the air as 250-milliliter beakers fall to the ground,

O! Majestic chemistry room, I bow down to you,

While, in the background, like fireworks, several Erlenmeyer flasks explode.
